When you double-click Add Route from the right pane, the Add Route dialog box opens. You have the option to create a direct route or an indirect route. An indirect route passes through an intermediate server to get to the destination server.
Creating a direct route
Click Direct Route to create a direct route from the source Replication Server to a destination Replication Server.
On Select Destination Site, the source Replication Server is displayed by default. Select the destination Replication Server from the drop-down list, or click Add Servers and use the Add Servers wizard if you do not see the server you need.
Specify the login information, or select the default.
Check the Summary and click Finish.
Creating an indirect route
Click Indirect Route to create an indirect route from the source Replication Server, through an intermediate Replication Server, to the destination Replication Server.
On Select Intermediate and Destination Site, the source Replication Server is displayed by default. Select the intermediate server from the drop-down list; and select the destination Replication Server from the drop-down list, or click Add Servers and use the Add Servers wizard if you do not see the server you need.
Check the Summary and click Finish.
