Prerequisites for using Replication Manager

Before you use Replication Manager to manage and monitor a replication system:

  1. Install Replication Server and Sybase Central software which includes Replication Manager. See the release bulletin and the Replication Server Installation Guide for your operating system.

  2. Identify and install the data servers that you want to use in your replication system.

  3. Configure Replication Server using rs_init. See the Replication Server Configuration Guide for your operating system.

  4. Start Sybase Central. See Starting and stopping Sybase Central.

  5. Register Replication Manager if you did not register during installation. See the Replication Server Installation Guide.

  6. In Sybase Central, create a replication environment, and then configure the environment to add the data servers and Replication Servers you want to manage.
