The Sybase Central main window is split into panes:
The left pane shows a hierarchical view of objects such as replication servers and data servers.
The right pane shows the contents of the currently selected container in the object tree.
For example, the left pane may show a Connections folder, but the connection definitions themselves are shown in the right pane.
The root object in the hierarchy represents Replication Manager. The object below the Replication Manager object represents a replication environment (two-tier environment) or replication domain (three-tier environment). A replication environment consists of all the Adaptive Server Enterprise servers, non-Sybase servers, and replication servers that participate in replication, along with the associated databases. For information about replication environments and domains, see Support for two-tier and three-tier replication environments. For information about replication environments, see The replication environment.
Data servers in a replication environment contain databases, which contain tables, definitions, and subscriptions. Replication servers contain all objects required for their use, such as connections.
In addition, the Replication Manager main window allows you to select multiple objects before running commands.
