Standard menus

The File menu functions based on the folder or object selected in the left pane. Menu commands change to meet the requirements of the object. When you highlight a menu command, a brief description of the command appears in the status bar at the bottom of the main window. The following table lists the activities available for each menu.

Menu	Activities
File	Open folders or objects. Create a new object. Open the property sheet of an object. Perform object-specific activities such as suspending a connection or viewing a server log file. Generate RCL or SQL Script Editor. Exit Sybase Central.
Edit	Undo or redo an action. Cut, copy, or paste an object definition. Delete folders or objects. Select an object or a group of objects. Invert selection.
View	Hide or display the standard toolbar, status bar, folders, and event log. Update the display. Select the columns to display and the order of display. Access navigation shortcuts. View tasks, folders, and the Search pane using the Tasks, Folder, and Search Pane options.
Tools	Access the Sybase Central log viewer (save log, clear, filter, or sort events, view details). Manage Sybase Central plug-ins. Access Sybase Central display options (tab placement, update interval, fast launcher). Use the Options tool to: Enable or disable Fast Launcher. Configure the port and shutdown time of Fast Launcher.
Connection	Connect to a database, a server, or another Sybase Central plug-in. Create connection profiles. Disconnect connections.
Search	Access the background processing feature.
Help	Access Replication Manager online help. Access Sybase Central online help. Display the About dialog box for Sybase Central.
