Using keyboard shortcuts

You can use keyboard shortcuts to select menu commands and populate dialog boxes.

Every menu title and menu command has an underlined letter that is called a mnemonic. To select a menu, press Alt-mnemonic. To select a menu command, press the mnemonic key. Some commands can be run directly by pressing Ctrl plus another key, or by pressing a function key. These shortcuts are listed on the menus.

To navigate to different controls such as fields, lists, and buttons in a dialog box or property sheet, use the Tab key. To select different tabs in a property sheet, use the Tab key to select the current tab, and use the left and right arrow keys to select other tabs.
