Preparing to manage a replication environment

Ensure that Replication Manager is registered with Sybase Central before you use Replication Manager. The installation program automatically registers Replication Manager.

If Replication Manager is not registered, register it manually. Select Tools | Plug-ins, click Register, and specify the plug-in either by registration file or JAR file.

In some cases, you might want to load the plug-in with a separate class loader. Select Tools | Plug-ins, click Properties, and select the Advanced Tab. On the Advanced Tab, select Load Plug-in with a Separate Class Loader, and manually enter these files:

$SYBASE/RMP-15_x/lib/asa.jar
$SYBASE/shared/lib/jconn3.jar
$SYBASE/RMP-15_x /lib/dsparser.jar
$SYBASE/RMP-15_x/lib/ldap.jar
$SYBASE/RMP-15_x/lib/callback.jar
$SYBASE/RMP-15_x/help/rmen.jar

Before you use Replication Manager, you must:

Create a replication environment or identify an existing one.
Create an object within Replication Manager to represent the replication environment with which you want to work. See Creating a replication environment.
Configure replication for the environment. See Configuring a replication environment.
