Adding connections and users

After you configure a replication environment, you can add additional database connections, logical connections, and users.

StepsAdding connections, logical connections, and users

  1. In the left pane, open the replication server object to which you want to add database connections, logical connections, or users.

  2. Open the folder for the object you want to add. For example, open the Connections folder to add a database connection.

  3. Double-click the shortcut for the appropriate wizard in the right pane. For example, double-click Add Connection to add a database connection.

  4. Follow the wizard steps to add the object to your environment.

  5. Enter user names and passwords for maintenance user and for RepAgent if you are adding a database connection and if the database is both primary and replicate.

  6. Click Finish and return to the Replication Manager object tree.

  7. If you created a replicate connection to a non-Sybase data server through DirectConnect, manually run the script that generates tables and procedures required for replication.

NoteReplication Manager 15.1 and later do not support adding logical connections for non-Sybase data servers.
