Setting up an RMS domain

The RMS server is the middle tier in a three-tier configuration. When setting up the RMS domain:

Add servers to the RMS domain using Replication Manager.
Ensure that server permissions are set correctly.

In a three-tier replication environment, you can perform basic monitoring through Replication Manager, and additional monitoring through the RMS API using the command line. See Replication Server Reference Manual.

Connecting to an RMS domain

Select Tools | Connect.
Select Replication Manager.
In the Connect to a Replication Domain dialog box, select RMS Server (three-tier).
Enter the user name and password to use to connect to the replication environment.
Select the server or click Options and enter the server details manually if the server is not in the interfaces or sql.ini file.
Click OK.

If the connection is successful, an RMS icon appears in the Sybase Central main window in the left pane.

You can maintain multiple replication environment connections simultaneously.
