If you create the logical connection from an existing
physical database connection, the existing connection becomes the
active database.
To create a warm standby environment, create these components in order:
A logical connection
A connection to the active database
A connection to the standby database
If you create the logical connection from an existing
physical database connection, the existing connection becomes the
active database.
The three wizards you use to create these components are:
Add Logical Connection – lets you create a logical connection based or not based on an existing physical connection.
Add Active Database – lets you add an active database connection to an existing logical connection.
Add Standby Database – lets you add a standby database to an existing logical connection, which has an active database connection.
