Using the Add Logical Connection wizard

Use this wizard to create a logical connection based or not based on an existing physical connection.

StepsCreating a logical connection

  1. In the tree view, select the Logical Connection folder under the Replication Server object.

  2. In the Details view, double-click Add Logical Connection.

  3. On the Convert Existing Connection wizard page, verify that Use an Existing Connection as the Active Connection is not selected. Click Next.

  4. Enter the Logical Server and Logical Database name for the logical connection. Click Next.

  5. Review the summary information for the logical connection. If everything looks correct, click Finish. Otherwise, click Back to return to an earlier page in the wizard and change the logical connection information. Return to the final wizard page and click Finish.

NoteYou must create the connections to the active and standby databases before you have a working warm standby environment. See the sections that follow for more information – Using the Add Active Database wizard, and Using the Add Standby Database wizard.
